Readers of this blog won’t be surprised to hear that young voters (18 to 30) support gay marriage. But a new Bloomberg poll shows that the number keeps rising, this time putting youth support for gay marriage at 70%. The article notes the negative electoral implications for Republicans:
“The math isn’t working to Republicans’ favor,” said J. Ann Selzer, president of West Des Moines, Iowa-based Selzer & Co., which conducted the poll for Bloomberg. The survey of 1,000 adults has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points on the full sample and larger on subgroups.
In another new poll, support of at least some recognition of gay unions is growing in Indiana:
“The message from these results is clear: Hoosiers overwhelmingly support some legal recognition for same-sex couples, and they oppose amending the Indiana Constitution to address the issue of same-sex marriage and rights,” Freedom Indiana campaign manager Megan Robertson said in a press release
Thanks to poll czar Michael Wilt for tracking down these two.
